ONE FEMALE SOLDIER'S PERSPECTIVE
Curled up on the couch of her parents' East Grand Forks home, Army Pfc. Deanna Sapp talked about the Iraqis' bewilderment regarding U.S. women soldiers.

"They're wondering what we're doing over there," Sapp said. "They say we should be at home cooking and taking care of our children and our six husbands."...

The women stationed there don't go on patrols or ambushes. "We basically hold down the fort," she said.

But not being subjected to harm as much as the men doesn't make it easier, she said.

"Being a woman in a war zone is different," Sapp said. "A woman's heart is a lot softer. She's more sensitive and caring, so she's also probably more afraid than the men are. We jump higher when we hear a mortar round."

And you don't know which Iraqis are friends or foes.

So I wonder what they think of CPT Patti when they find out she is in charge?
