MY HOME BOYS
Some South Carolina soldiers are visiting Iraqi elementary classrooms to build good relations with the local community.

The soldiers of the Greenville-based 151st Signal Battalion provide the elementary school with supplies donated by their families and friends.

"We visit and interact with the children and teachers," said Lt. Col. Heather Meeds, commander of the 450-soldier battalion, which has two of its four companies near Baghdad.

Some of the soldiers and their chaplain have been invited to a teacher's home, Meeds said.
