MORE BOMBINGS

But they don't seem to be targeting us directly.
A car bomb attack in front of the International Red Cross building in central Baghdad killed about 10 people on Monday, the official first day of fasting for Ramadan in Iraq.

"It definitely was a suicide bombing," Brig. Gen. Mark Hertling said. He said up to 10 Iraqis were killed and about 10 others were injured. Earlier reports indicated four other car bombs had detonated, but Hertling said three other vehicles exploded in the Baghdad area, two of them targeting police stations.

"From what our indications are, none of those bombers got close to the target either," Hertling said.

Witnesses said the explosion at the Red Cross occurred when the driver rammed the ambulance into security barriers -- oil drums filled with sand -- and blew up the vehicle about 8:30 a.m...

A second blast was heard about 20 minutes after the car bomb attack. The blast appeared to be in the vicinity of the Ministry of Industry.

Witnesses said another of the later blasts was in the al-Khadra neighborhood, where the relief organization CARE is located. Another was in the al-Shaab district, another witness said...

The unprecedented wave of bombings occurred on the first day of the Islamic holy month Ramadan in the Iraqi capital. Muslims abstain from food, drink, cigarettes and sex during daylight hours during the holy month, and religious feelings run high.

But I guess it doesn't say anything about murder...
