Day 366 of CPT Patti's deployment in on behalf of her country and of humanity.

One (leap) year.

One year ago we had no idea how long they would be gone. Some were betting on 6 months, citing Bosnia and Kosovo as the precedent.

I was thinking nine months might be about right.

Long time readers know we've had the goalposts moved several times since then.

Anyway...it has been a year. Today I am putting together a special box for her...stuff that will appeal to her softer side...and will be sending it once the last item arrives in the post.

How many couples ever celebrate an anniversary of a year apart?

Me...I don't want to do such again.
