COMMITMENT
Brig. Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, commander of the 1st Armored Division Task Force, said the bridge is a symbol of Iraq crossing from its past to the future.

“Together, we will rebuild Iraq just as this bridge was rebuilt — one small step at a time,” Dempsey said while standing on the 14th of July Bridge in central Baghdad. “Each step represents progress.”

Some do not want to see progress in the country, he said. He called them cowards who use violence as a way to hinder the effort to rebuild Iraq.

“They should know by now, we will not be deterred,” Dempsey said.

True enough...unless Dean gets elected...
